Brian May Receives PhD in Astronomy

No, I am not making it up...

Nearly 37 years after beginning work on his dissertation in astronomy at London’s Imperial College, the guitarist for Queen successfully defended his 48,000-word thesis, “Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud,” in a three-hour oral examination.

Impressive. I wonder what American rock guitarists are up to...

Didn't Mudhoney take a year or two off while their lead guitarist got his masters in anthropology or something?

Hmm... got me. I dunno. I can hardly keep up with the crazy things you kids listen to these days.

But I do know that NFL running back Gale Sayers (my dad says he was the best) went back to college and got a Master's right after retiring from football.

And then there's former Viking Alan Page, who got himself a law degree and is now on the MN Supreme Court.

Took Dr. Brian May 31 years. I don't want to hear anyone complaining about my Ph.D. (finishing this academic year, no. 8) ever again.

Former Bengal Chris Collingsworth got a law degree and later hosted TV's Guiness Book of World Records.

What's up with Ted? Why Michigan? I'd think his mindset would fly better in Idaho.
